Donate On-Line Safely and Easily
For your information, Congress has recently PERMANENTLY restored the IRA gift option for donors age 70 ½ and over. This is a simple way to make a charitable gift by using funds from your IRA. Plus, the transfer will count towards your annual required minimum distribution.
You may transfer up to $100,000 from your IRA to charities without the transfer being counted as taxable income.
Holy Angels Mission will be more than happy to help you reduce your income tax if you wish to take advantage of this provision!

THANKS!! to everyone who donated items for the auction, who helped selling tickets, cooking, cleaning, setting up; and especially to everyone that attended and helped support this worthy cause.

St. Michael the Archangel now graces the front of the church. It's one of the first things you see when you drive up to the church. It is absolutely beautiful. The artist, Kyle Erickson, is from Albuquerque. His work is beautiful we are so blessed that he produced such a beautiful piece of art for our church. It sends a message immediately that we ARE the Holy Angels!
Mayordomos Needed at Holy Angels
It's 2016 and the new year brings new need for volunteers to help clean the church. Mayordomos are selected by Father (or volunteer) for a one-year term. They are responsible for cleaning the church and other such duties. Last year Father appointed Jo Ann Layden with Kathy Davis to help. They asked for and got volunteers that took turns helping all year. This year Father has not appointed anyone, but even though she was assistant all last year, Kathy Davis has volunteered to take the job unless someone steps up to do it, or Father appoints someone. If you are interested in helping with this worthy ministry, please call Kathy Davis at 575-377-1203.
Father Immanuel Izuka, our Pastor came to us in July 2010 originally from Nigeria, and was previously at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish in Albuquerque, NM. Like previous Pastors, he travels extensively between his residence at St. Joseph's in Springer, NM, to Immaculate Conception in Cimarron, St. Mel's in Eagle Nest, and Holy Angels in Angel Fire, plus other small mission churches.
First Communion for Holy Angels Kids
Holy Angel's and St. Mel's children made their First Holy Communion on April 16, 2016, at St. Mel's Catholic Mission, Eagle Nest, NM. Because their teacher, Danielle Goodnight is a member of St. Mel's, the ceremony was held at St. Mel's. After a beautiful mass conducted by Father Emmanuel, Deacons Felimon Rael and Michael Sedillo, a reception was held at the Eagle Nest Community Center. Despite a snowy, winter-like day, it was all beautiful and the children seemed happy and of course very holy! Please view the pictures of the children on this slideshow.
FIRST COMMUNION AT HOLY ANGELS
On May 9, 2015, Holy Angels had its first group of children making their First Holy Communion. It was a beautiful ceremony, with Father Emmanuel and Deacon Felimon Rael presiding. Six children made their first communion and after mass, the community celebrated with the first communicants and their families by holding a pot luck in the meeting room. This was the first time in history that First Communion had been held in Angel Fire. Congratulations to the children and their parents and also to the Holy Angels community!

Our Mission is Dedicated!
On December 20, 2014, at 5:30 mass, Archbishop Sheehan dedicated our Mission Church, Holy Angels. It was a blessed and wonderful day. Thank you to so many of you that have made it possible. Although we have built our church, we will continue to fund raise to pay the mortgage. We will let you know what the amount is once everything is cleared with the Archdiocese. This website will change from a construction progress website to a church website. The changes will occur as we realize the needs of the church. Although we have our own building now, we are a Mission of Immaculate Conception in Cimarron, so if you need any help with baptisms, weddings, etc, please contact Immaculate Conception to make the arrangements.
Dear Fellow Parishioners,
We finally have our beautiful Mission church and want to keep it looking beautiful and everything working correctly. The Northern New Mexico tradition of having Mayordomos for each parish church and its missions has been part of our religious culture in Northern NM for hundreds of years. While discussing ways of maintaining our church, Father Emmanuel requested that we use the Mayordomo ministry. This is normally done by married couples or even families but is open to any group of parishioners who want to join together to serve God and his Church. As you can imagine, this ministry has tremendous impact on the welfare of the community and the facilities of the parish.
Traditionally, Mayordomos’ duties include caring for and cleaning the inside and/or outside of the church and sacristy. They work in teams that are scheduled to clean on a frequency determined by the number of teams. As they perform these duties around the church, they can also identify and report necessary repairs and facility improvements.
Some of the other duties the Mayordomos may perform include tasks such as unlocking the church doors for services, preparing necessary items used for mass such as the books and assuring for the laundering of the linens with that ministry.
Kathy Davis and I have been asked by Father to be the leads in coordinating the Mayordomo process for our church. We are still discussing exactly how this process will be accomplished and what duties will need to be included, some such as Sacristan may be considered a separate duty at our church and different teams may perform those duties. We welcome any of you interested in becoming Mayordomos, also in helping us with the planning and setting up the schedules, and recruiting the Mayordomos. We hope to see all our Parishioners involved and we’re sure that will happen! Call me or Kathy Davis if you are interested in serving in this ministry. It is a wonderful way to honor God and serve in our beautiful new Mission church.
Thank You, Jo Ann Layden, (575-377-2743) and Kathy Davis, (575-377-1203)
