Where Will the Money Come From?
This project is related to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, under the leadership of Archbishop Michael Sheehan. Under his leadership we are now engaged in our capital fund-raising effort. Our capital committee has made the decision to engage in direct fund raising efforts ourselves. Please click on the "Our Fun-draisers" link to read about some of the activities we have already sponsored to raise money. The events have been fun and involved Angel Fire and the surrounding areas.
We are committed to following all diocesan rules regarding fund-raising. By February, 2010, we had raised approximately $300,000.00, towards the one-million we must have before we begin building. With the total cost expected to be about two million dollars, the Archdiocese of Santa Fe will make us a loan for the remaining million or so after we begin the building.
In particular, we want our donors to know that the overwhelming proportion of their donations will actually go toward the building of the mission church. Some monies will be spent on fund-raising efforts, like this web site, a modest one which is expected to cost less than $200 a year. Our plan is that fund-raising costs will not exceed 1% of monies collected.

We would like potential donors outside our area to be comfortable with making a donation, particularly material donations. All funds that we collect are deposited in a special account managed by the diocesan finance office.
